本品為包金衣之大蜜丸，去除金衣後呈黃橙色至紅棕色；氣味芳香濃郁，味微苦。

功效與適用
清熱解毒、鎮驚開竅。適用於熱病邪入心包所致之高熱驚厥、神昏譫語；亦用於中風昏迷及腦炎、腦膜炎、中毒性腦病、腦出血、敗血症等出現上述症狀者。

This product is a large honeyed pill coated with gold leaf. When the gold leaf is removed, the pill appears yellowish-orange to reddish-brown; it has a strong aromatic odor and a slightly bitter taste.

Functions and Indications:
Clears heat, detoxifies, calms convulsions and opens the orifices. It is used for febrile diseases with pathogenic factors invading the pericardium, manifested as high fever with convulsions, coma and delirium; it is also used for apoplexy with coma, as well as encephalitis, meningitis, toxic encephalopathy, cerebral hemorrhage and sepsis that present the above syndromes.
